Ada Reeve - 1874-1966, British actress. She came from a theatrical Jewish family, and appeared in pantomime as a child. Then from the age of fourteen, having to support her family, she became a successful music-hall singer, performing seemingly innocent, but slightly risqué songs, most notably "She Was a Clergyman's Daughter". She later starred in musical comedy, including The Shop Girl at the Gaiety Theatre, and The Girl from Paris. In 1897 she toured Australia in Williamson's theatre company. Back in London, she took over the title role in San Toy. In the 1940s and 1950s she played roles as old ladies on stage and in films, until she was in her mid-80, including Eyewitness, Night and the City, Meet Me at Dawn and The Passionate Stranger - 3.5 x 5.5 inches (9 x 14 cm) autographed photo, showing her in "Me" at the Palace Theatre in 1902, signed: "Best wishes, Ada Reeve". Carl Reiner - born 1922, American actor, film director, producer and writer, winner of nine Emmy Awards and one Grammy. He was part of a comedy duo with Mel Brooks and wrote and directed the Dick Van Dyke Show, which he origionally intended to star in himself. Roy Royston - 1899-1976, British actor who appeared in a large number of films; from 1912 to 1914 (still being of small stature as a teenager), he was a child actor in silent films. In the later stage of the First World War he was a pilot in the Royal Flying Corps/Royal Air Force, winning the Military Medal for bravery. After the war he resumed his career in silent films (starring in Mr. Wu and The Magistrate), then turned his attention to the stage, playing leading roles in the West End, including The Cousin From Nowhere, Little Nellie Kelly, and then on Broadway: Peggy O'My Dears, June Day and Ups-a-Daisy.
