N.B. NOTE ON CHARLTON HESTON SIGNED PHOTOS - BUYERS BEWARE!

More than half (perhaps as many as three-quarters) of the Charlton Heston signed photos that I see offered for sale, particularly on the internet, have an autograph that was not signed by Charleton Heston himself, but is, in my opinion, secretarial (i.e. signed by an assistant, not by Mr. Heston himself). Many of the ones sent to fans, who wrote to Mr. Heston and received their signed photos by post, fall into this category, and bear an autograph like the one below; this is owned by me, and was sent by Mr Heston's office to a fan in the late 1990s/2000. I purchased the signed photo from him before I was aware of the difference.

Above: example of a "secretarial" autograph: this is often a more elegant autograph than the ones signed by Charlton Heston himself, and in particular the lower-case "r" and "l" of "Charlton" are almost the same height, wheras in the ones signed by Mr Heston himself, the "r" is noticably shorter than the "l". (Compare this autograph with the genuine one that I have for sale above.) Plenty of genuine ones are available, but buyers need to be wary, and to purchase for an experienced dealer they trust.
